CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M Track & Field finished up their final preparations for the 2023 Lone Star Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday as they competed in the TTU Jarvis Scott Open and the GVSU Big Meet.

The women's distance squad impressed in Allendale as
Florance Uwajeneza picked up a win in the 3,000m with a time of 9:31.15 followed by
Eleonora Curtabbi in second (9:33.27) and
Betty Bajika in fourth (9:59.61). On the men's side in Allendale,
Harry Louradour ran a 8:25.68 in the 3,000m for the 24
th best time so far this season in DII.

Leah Belfield picked up an eighth-place finish in the women's 200m with a time of 24.06 which is the fourth fastest time in program history and the fastest time so far this season in Division II.

The Buffs and Lady Buffs head to Lubbock next weekend as they look to defend their crowns at the Lone Star Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Sports Performance Center hosted by Texas Tech.
