DALLAS, Texas – West Texas A&M's
Bryli Contreras was voted Libero of the Year along with eight Lady Buffs receiving All-Conference awards to highlight the 2023 Lone Star Conference Postseason Awards Banquet held in Dallas, Texas on Wednesday night. A total of 52 student-athletes were recognized by the league's awards program and were voted on by the conference's head coaches.
Contreras was named the Libero of the Year for the first time in her career while leading the Lady Buffs in digs with 509 on the season and averaging 4.89 digs per set ranking her 41
st in the nation. The junior from Canyon, Texas has been the libero for the maroon and white for the 2023 season where she has totaled 129 assists and 64 service aces so far. Contreras has amassed 851 digs and counting in just two seasons with the Lady Buffs.

Emma Becker and Taytum stow all picked up First Team All-Conference honors with Contreras,
Carly Evetts and
Ainsley Malis tabbed to the Second Team.
Brynne Wright grabbed Honorable Mention honors during her first season as a Lady Buff. Malis and Stow were honored for their efforts in the classroom with spots on the All-Academic Team.
The Lady Buffs were voted with the most student-athletes to the All-Conference awards with seven followed by co-champions DBU placing six. UT Tyler and Texas A&M International each earned five honors.
Dallas Baptist's head coach Jordan Fish was named the LSC Coach of the Year after leading the program to its first regular season co-champions in the LSC. Delaney Fuller of DBU was named the league's Player of the Year while also picking up Offensive Player of the Year. Texas A&M International's Emma Lade was named the Setter of the Year. Hannah Watkins of Arkansas-Fort Smith was named the Defensive Player of the Year while Texas Woman's Grace Reynolds was named the Freshman of the Year.
The Lady Buffs and DBU Patriots finished the regular season as co-champions while the Patriots earned the top seed and will serve as the host of the 2023 LSC Championship Tournament on Nov. 16-18. WT will face No. 7 seed Texas Woman's tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at the Burg Center in Dallas, Texas.
