CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M head women's basketball coach
Josh Prock has announced the addition of Wellington, Texas product Presley Kane to the Lady Buff High School Signing Class of 2024-25.
"It is exciting to add Presley Kane to our roster, she is a young lady who will bring a tremendous amount of toughness to our team. She is a very capable guard who can to it all, she is very good shooter and crafty ball handler. Her work ethic is as good as anyone I have seen in my years of coaching" said Prock "When you describe a young lady who is a winner on and off the court, you describe Presley. The Texas Panhandle will continue to be a priority and to add another young lady with the talent Presley brings is something we are very excited about."
Kane was named the District 2-2A Most Valuable Player during her junior campaign as she was named to the Press Pass Sports Team and the Amarillo Globe News Super Team, averaging 10 points per game. She also lettered in cross country and tennis at WHS, winning the 2021 Class 2A Cross Country State Championship with the Lady Skyrockets while also qualifying for regionals in tennis doubles.
In the classroom, she was an Academic All-District selection while being named the Wellington Chamber of Commerce Student of the Year while serving as a member of the National Honor Society.
Presley is the daughter of Lance and Deidre Kane and she has three siblings: Kyla, Taytum and Kaesyn. She is expected to major in Human Development at West Texas A&M.
"Presley is the type of athlete that you selfishly never want to see graduate and leave your program. As highly skilled as she is; her toughness, character, and leadership are what makes her truly special" said Wellington High School head coach Cade Brown "The Lady Rockets Basketball team has benefited greatly from her time here, I am sure West Texas A&M will be no different. Go Buffs!"
