CANYON, Texas – The Buffaloes of West Texas A&M fired rounds of 286 and 278 to sit second after the opening day of the Centennial Cup at Walnut Creek Golf Preserve (Par 72 – 7,563 Yards) in Westminster, Colorado.
Luis Palomo sits third on the individual leaderboard as the sophomore from Barcelona fired rounds of 73 and 65 to finish Monday with a 138 (-6) followed by
Victor Estas tied for fourth with a -5 (139). The Buffs registered 48 birdies on Monday highlighted by 25 feathers in the second round.
Colorado Mesa leads the way on the team leaderboard as the Mavericks registered a 555 (-21) during the opening day to hold a nine-stroke lead over the Buffs heading into Tuesday. Dylan Everett of CMU shot a 136 (-8) on Monday to hold a one-stroke lead over Max Lange of Colorado School of Mines on the individual leaderboard.
Three teams (Westminster, Texas A&M-International, Regis) were not able to complete their second round due to darkness on Monday, Tuesday will see the completion of the second round followed by a shotgun start for the final round.
