CANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M Buffaloes continue to impress as they shot a 282 (-2) during Tuesday's final round of the annual Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational at Amarillo Country Club (Par 71 – 6,937 Yards) to finish second overall.
The Buffs registered 16 birdies during the final round to shoot a 282 (-2) highlighted by five feathers from
Luis Palomo with four of them coming on the back-nine.
Wyatt Provence impressed on one of his hometown courses as the freshman shot a 210 (-3) to finish fifth on the individual leaderboard.
Dallas Baptist claimed the team championship by three-strokes over the Buffs as the Patriots fired a 285 (+1) during Tuesday's final round to finish with a one-under 851. WT finished second 854 (+2) followed by Colorado School of Mines (861, +9) and Midwestern State (+11, 863).
UT Permian Basin's Sangha Park and Colorado School of Mines' Lukas Taggart finished tied atop of the individual lederboard with a 204 (-9) to force a one-hole playoff. Park claimed the individual crown as the senior from South Korea drained a birdie putt from the fringe of the 18
th green on the first playoff hole.
The Buffs return to action next Monday and Tuesday as they travel to Westminster, Colorado to take part in the Regis Fall Invitational taking place at Walnut Creek Golf Preserve.
