RICHARDSON, Texas – West Texas A&M's Florance Uwajeneza received Runner of the Week accolades for the second time this season announced by the Lone Star Conference offices on Wednesday. 
 
The senior earned the weekly honor for the fourth time in her career after she won the Texas Tech Open for the second consecutive year, leading the Lady Buffs to their runner-up finish behind Oklahoma Sooners. Uwajeneza remains undefeated at the LCU Cross Country course during the regular season as the senior completed the 6-kilometer race in 20 minutes, 58.2 seconds. 
 
She was the only runner to finish under 21-minutes as she registered her sixth victory in the Maroon & White, marking the fastest 6K time in the LSC this season. 
 
Uwajeneza and WT will compete in the Live in Lou Classic on Saturday, Oct. 1 in Louisville, Ky., at the E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park.
