CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M claimed a fifth-place finish at the 2025 NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country South Central Regional Championships on Saturday afternoon at Walking Stick Golf Course in Pueblo, Colorado.

Naomi Addo led the way for the Lady Buffs as the sophomore ran a time of 20:55.3 to finish sixth overall in a field of 171 competitors.
Abigail Abugire registered a time of 21:37.6 to finish 23
rd overall followed by
Julie Lafare in 25
th (21:39.7),
Lexi Maul in 66
th (22:46.7),
Yvonne Legarreta in 72
nd (22:54.7) and
Andrea Monchatre in 80
th (23:05.1) while
Sarah Koomson did not finish.

Adams State placed three student-athletes inside the Top-10 highlighted by the first two runners to cross the finish line as the Grizzlies won the South Central Regional Championship with 42 total points. UC Colorado Springs (74) and Colorado School of Mines (82) also claimed automatic bids into the NCAA National Championships.

The Lady Buffs finished fifth overall with 192 points as they were the highest finishing Lone Star Conference institution. WT now awaits their fate as the NCAA selection committee announces the remaining teams competing for this year's National Championships with a release on Monday, November 10
th by 5:00 p.m. ET on NCAA.com.
