LUBBOCK, TEXAS. – No. 8 West Texas A&M Women's Cross Country captured a victory down at the Texas Tech Open Friday morning to open their 2026 campaign. The Lady Buffs scored 35 points and were led by
Michelle Jemutai who finished second.
Six Lady Buffs would finish in the top 20 as 35 points were accumulated. Rounding out the top five would be Texas Tech (60), No. 17 Fort Lewis (65), Colorado Christian (69), and Amarillo College (184).
Jemutai paced WT with a time of 21:19.3 to come in second place.
Lola Sarthou was right behind Jemutai as she finished with a time of 21:22.3 to come in third.
Naomi Addo was the third Lady Buff to finish in the top five as a 22:01.1 time placed her fifth.
Léa Navarro ran a 22:20.4 to come in 10th.
Ella Schuettler was the final runner for West Texas A&M to score points as she came in 15th place behind a 22:40.9 time.
