CANYON, Texas – For the second year in a row, West Texas A&M's
Benjamin Azamati broke the NCAA Division II 100-meter dash record at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.

Azamati now ranks first in the world in the 100m dash as he broke his own Ghana national record and DII record after running 9.90 in the prelims. The time matches the fourth-fastest time in all collegiate history alongside David Ezinwa of Azusa Pacific's time in 1992.
The Ghana native was not the only one to write history on Friday as
Bassem Hemeida ran 49.95 in the finals of the 400-meter hurdles to break his one-week-old record of 49.99.
Desmond Aryee finished 17
th in the 100m open running 10.42.
Ohdel James,
Malick Diop,
Jeremiah Lauzon, and
Quinton Sansing run the program's third-fastest time 3:07.83 to finish 10th in the prelims of the 4x400.
WT would finish third in the men's sprint medley relay as the quartet of
William Frobe, Lauzon, Sansing and
Butare Rugenerwa ran 3:18.03 just .48-seconds off of Clemson's runner-up finish.
Freshman
Hamdi Alamin placed fifth in the section B of the high jump with a clearance of 6-10.75 (2.10m).
For the Lady Buffs,
Leah Belfield ran a personal-best 11.52 in the open collegiate 100-meter dash to match the school record. She finished third overall while
Alana Wilson finished 11
th with a time of 11.74.
The quartet of
Jordanae' Scott, Belfield, Wilson, and
DeOndra Green finish 12th in the prelims running 45.34 to tie the fifth fastest time in school history.
Taylor Nelloms made her outdoor debut after jumping 42-2.25 (12.86m) in the triple jump to place eighth.
Laiten Greeson ran 14.60 to finish 30
th in the open 100-meter hurdles followed by
Elliot Harrison in 43
rd at 14.89.
Bobcat Invitational
Noah Bundrock finished second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase running 9:15.61 in San Marcos.
Grace Dwyer finished fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:21.38.
