Lady Buffs Fall on the Road at Texas Woman’s, 61-50

DENTON, Texas – The Lady Buffs battled back from a 19-point halftime deficit to cut the lead to single-digits in the fourth quarter before falling to the Texas Woman's Pioneers, 61-50 on Saturday afternoon in Lone Star Conference action at Kitty Magee Arena in Denton.
 
Taylor Williams led the way for the Lady Buffs as the Memphis, Tennessee product went 5-of-12 from the field including 2-of-4 from deep for a team-high 12 points. Haylei Janssens finished the game going 4-of-8 from the floor including 2-of-4 from behind the arc for 10 points to go along with five boards and two steals.
 
The Lady Buffs finished the afternoon going 21-of-62 (33.9%) from the floor including 5-of-18 (27.8%) from behind the arc and 3-of-6 (50%) from the free throw line to go along with 39 rebounds (14 offensive, 25 defensive), five assists, 13 turnovers, two blocks and five steals.
 
Ashley Ingram led the way offensively for the Pioneers as the freshman from Bridgeport went 5-of-9 from the floor including 5-of-6 from the charity stripe for a game-high 15 points to go along with five rebounds, three assists, four steals and two blocks. TWU went 24-of-54 (44.4%) from the field including 2-of-8 (25%) from deep and 11-of-16 (68.8%) from the stripe with 34 rebounds, seven assists, 12 turnovers, four blocks and seven steals.
 
The Lady Buffs close out their road trip on Monday afternoon as they head to Austin, Texas to take on the St. Edward's Hilltoppers in Lone Star Conference action with tipoff set for 1 p.m. at the Recreation and Athletics Center.
