CANYON, Texas – The No. 10 Lady Buffs of West Texas (21-7, 9-7 LSC) head to the Sooner State for doubleheaders against Cameron (17-11, 8-8 LSC) and No. 13 Oklahoma Christian (23-5, 13-3).

NO BETTER TIME FOR A BYE
When WT takes the field on Friday in Lawton, Okla., it will be their first game in 12 days after having a bye last weekend. It will also be there first game in the month of April.
SCOUTING THE AGGIES
Cameron enters the weekend at 17-11 overall and 8-8 in LSC play after splitting a two-game series against Midwestern State.
The Aggies are hitting .322 as a team with 35 doubles, 24 home runs and 137 RBI. Khmari Edwards has started in all 28 games for CU hitting a team-best .411 with 37 hits in 90 at-bats. The Del City, Okla. native has seven doubles and five home runs for a team-high 27 RBI. She is also 19-of-21 in stolen base attempts.
Brenna Busby ranks second on the team in batting average (.4050 as the senior has seven doubles and five home runs. Haley Castle has hit a team-high eight home runs, four of those coming in a doubleheader against Fort Hays State and Oklahoma Baptist.
Bethany Hines has started 17 games in the circle for the Aggies compiling a record of 7-4 with an ERA of 3.10. She has allowed 57 runs, 39 earned, in 88 innings of work with 68 strikeouts. Breley Webb is 6-4 in 15 appearances for CU including a complete game shutout against St. Edward's on March 21.
THE SERIES
The Lady Buffs are 34-12 all-time against the Aggies including a 9-4 record in Lawton, Okla. WT won their last meeting on March 22, 201, 6-5, to end a three-game losing streak.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Oklahoma Christian are 23-5 overall and 13-3 in LSC play and have won six straight games. They are 12-1 at home with the lone loss coming against Texas A&M-Kingsville in the second game of the doubleheader.
The Eagles are hitting .321 on the season with 47 doubles, 14 triples and 16 home runs for 152 RBI. They have walked 93 times with 90 strikeouts and 53 stolen bases.
Kylie Janzen is the leading hitter for OC with 29 hits in 73 at-bats for an average of .397. She has scored 23 runs with five doubles, three triples and five home runs for a team-high 26 RBI. Brianna Robinson is hitting .373 but has only scored three runs.
Kali Crandall is one of the top pitchers in the conference is she is 15-1 on the season with an ERA of 1.34. She has allowed 22 runs, 19 earned, on 66 hits and 52 walks while recording 103 strikeouts in 99.1 innings of work. Bailey Turner has also made 15 appearances in the circle for the Eagles.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The Lady Buffs are 4-1 all-time against the Eagles including a perfect 2-0 record on the road. They did drop their last meeting to the Eagles, 7-5, in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional in Kingsville.
LAST TIME OUT
The Lady Buffs finished the month of March with a series split with St. Mary's at Schaeffer Park in Canyon.
WT took game one of the doubleheader, 3-2, as Julia Guzman drove in two runs.
Kyra Lair went the distance in the circle for the Lady Buffs allowing two runs, one earned, on four hits with eight strikeouts.
In the second game, WT's comeback came up a little short as they fell 6-5 to the Rattlers. Trailing by four runs heading into the Bottom of the 7th, Salzman doubled to center field with two outs to cut the deficit to one.
Emilee Wilson was credited with the loss as the sophomore allowed 11 hits and six runs, four earned, with a walk and four strikeouts.
NFCA DIVISION II POLL
Four teams received first-place votes as Augustana moved up to first as the Vikings have won of their 14 of their last 15. North Georgia, Valdosta State and Texas A&M-Commerce also received first-place votes while UT Tyler remained in fifth. Rollins is sixth followed by UIndy, Lincoln Memorial, Young Harris and WT. Lone Star Conference schools Texas A&M-Kingsville and Oklahoma Christian were also represented in the poll at 12th and 13th respectively.
The Lady Buffs are coming off a bye week and head to the Sooner State this weekend for doubleheaders against Cameron (April 9) and #13 OC (April 11).
RECORD WATCH
McBroom or 'McBOOM' as she is known in the Texas Panhandle, is putting her name all over the record book.
The senior now ranks sixth in hits (245) and home runs (34) following her performance against StMU two weeks ago. She is also three runs away from moving into the Top 10 in runs scored.

With her next home run, Salzman will join McBroom in sixth on the all-time home run list. The redshirt sophomore is hitting .466 this season with nine doubles, three triples and eight home runs with 39.
Lair is also moving up the record book as the Canyon native is one win away from moving up to seventh on the all-time win list. She picked up her 33rd career win against StMU.
THE MOOK ERA
A new era of Lady Buff softball officially began on June 20, 2019, as
Michael Mook took charge as the third head coach in program history. Under Mook, the Lady Buffs hold a 35-16 overall record and have been ranked in the Top 25 in six straight weeks.
Mook brought an impressive resume to WT softball with a 154-61 (.716) record at Valley City State University over his four-years with the Vikings including a program record 54 wins and an appearance in the NAIA World Series in the 2019 season.
LONE STAR CONFERENCE PRESEASON POLL
Oklahoma Christian totaled 619 points to sit atop the preseason poll, including 22 first-place votes. UT Tyler was picked second with 548 points (four first-place) followed by Texas A&M-Commerce (five first-place, 538), Angelo State (three first-place, 535) and Texas A&M-Kingsville (six first-place, 533) to close out the Top 5. Lubbock Christian (one first-place, 501) sits sixth followed by West Texas A&M (444), Cameron (375), St. Mary's (311), Eastern New Mexico (276), St. Edward's (265), UT Permian Basin (213), Texas Woman's (161), Midwestern State (143), Texas A&M International (143) and Western New Mexico (107).
ASU's Courtney Barnhill and TAMIU's Briana Arredondo received co-LSC Preseason Player of the Year recognition while OC's Kali Crandall was named the Preseason Pitcher of the Year.
