CANYON, Texas – The #5 Buffaloes of West Texas A&M jumped out to an early lead on Saturday night as head coach
Matt Vanderburg registered his 500
th career win while WT clinched the Lone Star Conference weekend series with the #10 Angelo State Rams with an 11-6 win at Wilder Park.
The Buffs carried over their momentum from Friday night with six runs on seven hits in the first inning for an early advantage.

Kyle Moos crushed a three-run bomb over the scoreboard in left field followed by another Rams error on a
Justin Martinez single to right in his first game in over a year for the 6-0 lead.
WT loaded the bases with no outs in the home half of the third as Badgett singled to left to drive in a pair followed later in the frame by a Johnson RBI double down the left field line to run the lead to 9-0.
The Rams got on the board in the top of the fifth as Josh Elvir doubled off of the center field wall to drive in a pair followed later in the frame by a Jordan Williams RBI single thru the right side to knock
Todd Danzeisen from the game at 9-3,
Chris Rodriguez entered from the bullpen and slammed the door with a strikeout to send the teams to the home half of the fifth with WT leading 9-3.
Angelo cut into the lead again in the sixth as Thomas Cain grounded out to third to score Nick Novak before Rodriguez registered a pair of K's in the heart of the ASU order to keep it at 9-4. WT added to their lead in the seventh as Moos doubled to the warning track in center field to score Fuenning all the way from first with no outs, Moos would score from third on a wild pitch to make it 11-4.
ASU wouldn't go down without a fight as Jackson Hardy lifted a solo homerun to left field to leadoff the eighth, the Rams would load the bases with one out followed by an Aaron Walters RBI groundout before
Chandler Dean limited the damage with a groundout to Madrid at 11-6. Dean would sit the Rams down in order in the ninth for the 11-6 win.
Rodriguez picked up the win (4-0) on the mound for the Buffs, allowing two earned runs on four hits with no walks and four strikeouts in his 2.2 innings of relief.
