A LOOK AT NO. 16 DBU
No. 16 DBU reached Sunday's regional semifinal after an impressive 83-61 over Southern Arkansas on Saturday evening in Lubbock. The Patriots improved to 17-4 on the season with the 22-point victory.Â

The Patriots are led by 15th year head coach Dr. Blake Flickner, who has compiled a record of 287-178 during his time in Dallas.Â

Chandler Jacobs does it all for the Patriots as the senior was named the LSC Defensive and Academic Player of the Year. He enters Sunday's contest averaging 21.0 points per game while shooting 56.6 percent from the floor, 46.7 percent from3-point range and 82.8 percent from the free throw line. He played 39 minutes in the win over SAU with 18 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Ricky Lujan was name the league's Freshman of the Year as the Las Cruces, N.M. native is averaging 16.6 points per game. He has scored in double figures in 17 of his 19 appearances including a career-high 31 against Cameron in his third collegiate game.Â

INSIDE THE SERIES
The Buffs lead the all-time series 5-1, with all six previous contests taking place in Canyon. It will be the fifth time that WT has played in the same team four times in the same season under Brown (Texas A&M-Kingsville 2016-17, UT Permian Basin 2017-18, Texas A&M-Commerce 2017-18, Texas A&M-Commerce 2018-19).Â

WE RAN IT BACK (AGAIN)
The Buffs won their record fourth straight Lone Star Conference on Sunday with a 108-89 victory over St. Edward's at the First United Bank Center. They broke the previous record held by Abilene Christian, who won three straight from 1985-87.

Since losing to Texas A&M-Kingsville in the 2017 LSC Tournament, WT has won 12 straight conference tournament games by a margin of 11.4 points.Â

WE ARE NUMBER ONE
WT was named the top seed in the South Central Region during Sunday's NCAA Division II men's basketball show, marking the fourth straight year they have been the top ranked in the region. The Buffs are 6-0 as the No. 1 seed under seventh year head coach
Tom Brown, all six of those wins coming at home.Â

WHAT ELSE CAN YOU QUA?
Grant was named the LSC Tournament Most Valuable Player after recording a 34-point, 12 rebound double-double in the championship game against the Hiilltoppers. He also had a double-double in their 88-77 semifinal win over DBU with 27 points and 10 rebounds.Â

The Waxahachie native averaged 21.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game shooting 56.4 percent from the floor, 40.0 percent from 3-point range and 90.0 percent the free throw line during WT's run to the Elite Eight as a freshman in 2018-19.Â

HOUSTON, WE HAVE LIFTOFFÂ
Zach Toussaint was named to LSC All-Tournament Team after shooting a scorching 59.1 percent from3-point range. The sophomore, who was named Honorable Mention All-LSC last week, averaged 15.3 points per contest en route to helping the Buffs win their fourth straight title.Â

The sophomore is averaging a career-best 10.8 points per game this season while shooting 47.7 percent from the floor, 44.7 percent from beyond the arc and 72.7 percent from the free throw line.Â

TWO OF THE BEST TO DO ITÂ
Two of the five players in program history to score over 1,500 points are on the current roster in Grant and
Joel Murray. Grant ranks third on the scoring list behind David Chavlovich and Ryan Quaid. Murray reached the 1,500-point club with his final basket against SEU in the LSC Championship. The junior is one of two players in program history to rank in the Top 5 in scoring and assists.

UP TO NO. 4, NO REASON TO STOP NOW
Following their win over SEU in the LSC Championship, Brown is now the fourth winningest coach in program history. The two-time LSC Coach of the Year has accumulated a record of 177-42 (80.8%) sine being hired as the 17th head coach in program history prior to the 2015-16 season.Â

Brown now only trails Rick Cooper (391), Sam Burton (208) and Gus Miller (195).

EMBRACING MARCH MADNESS
The Buffs are 9-3 in the NCAA DII Tournament under Brown including consecutive trips to the Elite Eight. Since losing to Colorado School of Mines on March 14, 2017 in Golden, Colo., WT has won six straight South Central Regional games including finals over UT Permian Basin and SEU.Â

WT is 14-19 all-time in the NCAA Tournament since 1955 when they faced Bill Russell and No. 1 San Francisco.Â

Sophomore
Kavon Booker has recorded two or more blocks in six of his last seven games including a career-high five against Cameron on Feb. 19 in Lawton, Okla. He had 10 blocks along in last week's LSC Tournament.

The Schertz native scored a career-high 12 points in the final against SEU and is averaging 8.7 points and 4.0 rebounds since being inserted into the starting lineup.

BUFFALO CHIPS
Grant became the third player in program history to score over 1,600 points on Saturday. Through 88 games, the junior is averaging 18.4 points per game for a total of 1,617 points.Â

Murray is 12 assists away from moving up to fourth on the all-time assist list as the junior has 375 dimes through 88 games. Grant currently ranks 11th on the list with 240.Â
Â
Toussaint's 113 3-pointers are the 17th most in program history. The sophomore is primed to move up the list on Sunday as he only needs four makes to move up to 14th.

The Buffs would advance to Tuesday's regional final with a win over No. 16 DBU where they would face off against the winner of Lubbock Christian and Oklahoma Baptist. Tip is scheduled for 7 p.m at the Rip Griffin Center.
