CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M Athletics is proud to announce the creation of the Brad Stark Scholarship in honor of long-time public address announcer Brad Stark's 38th season as the voice of WT Athletics. The scholarship will be awarded to a WT student-athlete pursuing a degree in communications or broadcasting.
 
"Brad Stark has been an integral part of the success and culture of our athletic program for almost 40 years.   Our alumni and fans will tell you that his ability to create an exciting game environment is second to none. "said Director of Athletic Michael McBroom "There is a reason our win-loss record is as good as it is – probably higher than 80%  – when Brad calls a game. He inspires all of us to greater heights when we compete and I can't think of a better way to honor him than to establish a scholarship that will benefit students at WT forever."
 
The Amarillo native has been the soundtrack of countless historic moments in WTAMU history as he serves as the public address voice for volleyball, football, basketball, softball and numerous other university events. Stark has been a part of three volleyball national championships, a softball national title as well as numerous NCAA and Lone Star Conference postseason events. That all adds up to over 3,000 contests for Stark over the last three and a half decades in Canyon.
