CANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M Buffaloes trailed by six runs in the third inning before fighting back to score seven unanswered and take a 7-6 walkoff victory in game one of a Lone Star Conference weekend series from the #22 Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas at Wilder Park on Friday night.
The Buffs and Javelinas continue their weekend series tomorrow afternoon with a pair of seven-inning contests starting at 4 p.m. at Wilder Park.

RECAP:
The Javelinas got on the board in the top of the second inning as Matthew Stary lifted a two-run bomb to center field followed two batters later by a Hayden Fails solo shot to left center for the early 3-0 lead. TAMUK added to their lead in the third as singled thru the left side to drive in Austin De Leon followed by a passed ball to plate another run, the Javelinas weren't done yet as Cameron Melcher grounded out to second as Steven Bonuz scored to make it 6-0.
The Buffs found their rhythm offensively in the home half of the fourth as
Kyle Moos crushed a solo homerun off of the protective netting in front of the scoreboard in left field to make it 6-1. WT took advantage on a Javelina error in the fifth as
Keone Givens drove in
Tanner Schuetz on a sac fly followed by an errant throw that scored
Brendon Woelfle at 6-3.
Another Kingsville error led to a WT run in the sixth as
Darius Carter scored from first base on a single to center by
Clay Koelzer that found its way under the glove of Seth Spinn, Moos continued his hot day at the plate in the eight as he singled to left center to drive in Givens at 6-5.
Luke Hughes sparked the ninth inning with a double to center field with two outs followed by a walks to
Izaiah Madrid and Givens to load the bases,
Cade Engle ended the game on the second pitch from reliever Chase Glover with a two-run single to right center for the 7-6 win.
Mitchell Miller picked up the win (1-1) for the Buffs as the senior lefty struck out three without allowing a hit in the final two innings of the game.
