AMARILLO, Texas – The West Texas A&M Buffaloes finished opening weekend with a 13
thplace finish at the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invite at Tascosa Golf Club in Amarillo. The tournament featured 36-holes on Monday as windy conditions saw low scores throughout the day with par set at 71 with a yardage of 6,512.

"We knew coming in that the youth of our team was going to take time to develop, I thought we played well for stretches of all three rounds but struggled to finish" said WT head coach
Eric Moore "We left a lot of shots on the course but I'm proud of our newcomers and young guys for battling and we're excited to head to Austin in two weeks."

The Eagles of Oklahoma Christian claimed the team title with a score of 840 (-12) followed by St. Mary's (-3, 849), St. Edward's (+2, 854), Midwestern State (+5, 857), Colorado State-Pueblo (+7, 859), Hutchinson CC (+7, 859), Arkansas Fort Smith (+7, 859), Indian Hills CC (+8, 860), Southwestern Oklahoma State (+14, 866) and Central Oklahoma (+14, 866) to round out the top ten.

Oklahoma Christian's Andres Brictson and Midwestern State's Jake Doggett tied for the individual title with a score of -8 (205) as Brictson registered a par to win the fourth playoff hole (#11). Parker Jennings (UAFS) and Trevor Norby (OC) finished tied for third (-6, 207) while Austin Cotton (SEU) and Andrew Ni (CSUP) tied for fifth with a 208 (-5).

Eemeli Jarvinen led the way for the Buffs as the sophomore finished tied for 32
nd with a score of 217 (+4) followed by
Erik Strömfelt who shot a 219 (+6) including a one-over 72 in the final round to tie for 41
st. Freshman
Daniel Unger tied for 62
nd with a score of 225 (+12) followed by
Zachary Farkas in a tie for 67
th with a 227 (+14) as the returner shot a three-over 74 on Tuesday.
Harry Walch completed his first tournament in Maroon & White in a tie for 74
th with a score of +16 (229) to finish one shot ahead of WT's individual of the tournament
Mitchell Downing (+17, 230).
