Buffs Sit Seventh After Two Rounds at Hardscrabble Invitational

Fort Smith, Ark. – 
West Texas A&M men's golf sits in seventh place after shooting 597 over 36 holes on Monday at the Hardscrabble Invitational in Fort Smith, Ark. 

The Buffs are three strokes back from Lone Star Conference rival Cameron for sixth after the first day of competition at the par-70, 6,783-yard layout with their +37. Hosts Arkansas-Fort Smith lead the event at 567 (+7) followed by Texas A&M International (+9) and Texas A&M-Commerce (+16).

Freshman Eemeli Jarvinen is tied for 20thafter shooting rounds of 74 (+4) and 73 (+3) with two birdies, seven bogeys and a double bogey. He recorded both of his birdies on the 365-yard, Par 4 13thhole. 

Collin Bumpass sits alone in 27thplace after shooting 148 (+8) while Michael Hodson (152, +12) and Brayden Cruth (155, +15) are both in the Top 40.

Zachary Farkas is tied for 44thafter carding a 161, which included the second-best score in the opening round for the Buffs with a 74 (+4). 

WT begins the final round of the tournament tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. and will be grouped with Rogers State and Southwestern Oklahoma State.
