AZUSA/LONG BEACH, California – West Texas A&M Track & Field sent their distance student-athletes to the West Coast this weekend as they came back to the Lone Star State with three provisional marks and a school record during the Azusa Pacific Bryan Clay Invite and the Long Beach State Invite.

The Buffs and Lady Buffs wrap-up the weekend on Sunday afternoon as they host the WT Invitational inside of the Buffalo Sports Park in Canyon with field events starting at 1 p.m. in Canyon.

Day One - Thursday
Geoffrey Kipchumba started off the action in Azusa as the senior finished 32
nd in the 3,000m Steeplechase with a provo time of 9:11.66 for the fastest time in the LSC in the event so far this season,
Erman Jepleting impressed in the women's 5,000m as the freshman finished eighth overall in Heat 7 with a time of 18:18.23.
Brandon Rivera ran a 1:50.26 in the 800m for an NCAA provo mark, making it the 11th fastest mark in DII so far this season and the second best time in school history with a 1.38 second PR.

Briggs Wittlake finished 18
th in Heat 5 of the men's 5,000m with a time of 14:40.79 (PR) followed by teammate
Ryan Thomson in 23
rd (14:47.03) as the Buffs now hold the top three 5K times in the Lone Star Conference. Hind capped off the night on the West Coast in style as the senior finished 10
th overall in Heat 3 of the 5,000m with a time of 14:14.48 for a new school record to provisionally qualify for the Outdoor National Championships in Charlotte, North Carolina on May 24-26.

Day Two – Friday
Harvie hit a provisional mark in the men's 1,500m with a time of 3:47.67 for the 12
th fastest time in Division II so far this season while Kipchuma finished with a time of 3:54.97. Over at the Long Beach Invitational, Jepleting finished the women's 3,000m Steeplechase with a time of 11:29.57 for a fourth place finish to give the freshman the third fastest time among Lone Star Conference student-athletes in the event so far this outdoor season with a 51 second PR.

Nikolina Hrelec competed in the 1,500m at the Long Beach Invite as she finished 62
nd with a time of 4:53.35 while four different Buffs ran in the men's 1,500m race with Harvie finishing 27
th (3:55.62) followed by Rivera (54
th, 4:00.85), Hind (68
th, 4:03.91), Thomson (69
th, 4:04.18) and Wittlake (87
th, 4:13.50).
