THE TEXAS RELAYS
The Texas Relay began in 1925 as a men's only competition with women's events added in 1963. The Texas Relays are currently the second largest track meet in the United States, behind only the Penn Relays as 50,000 spectators and 5,000 athletes attend the events each year.
USTFCCCA NATIONAL ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Isaac Botsio welcomed the outdoor season by winning the 100 meters at the West Texas Relays in 10.06 (+0.8). If that sounds fast to you, that's because it is. In fact, the time has the West Texas A&M senior No. 2 all-time in the NCAA DII record books, tying his own mark from two years prior. The only man to have run faster is former Buff star Benjamin Azamati.
This is the third time that Botsio has been named M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week during the outdoor season. Botsio previously earned national weekly honors on April 8 of 2024 and April 11 of 2023.
LSC OUTDOOR FEMALE TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Kalkidan Vincendeau ran the top 5,000-meters time in all of NCAA Division II this season with a 16:11.65 at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C. The time is the fourth best in program history. Vincendeau competed in a field of 187 of the top runners in the country from all divisions.
