CANYON, Texas – Khaline Jacob and Shanelle Arjoon scored in the second half as the #19 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M defeated UT Permian Basin on Senior Day at The Pitch in front of 257 fans. WT honored four seniors, Courtney Dippel, Khadidra Debesette, Khadisha Debesette and Kelsey Johnston, before Sunday's contest as they improved to 15-2-1 overall and 10-1-1 in Lone Star Conference play.

The Lady Buffs had their first scoring opportunity in the 19th minute after Calista Cordero was taken down in the penalty area but the ensuing penalty went over the crossbar. Khadidra Debesette nearly had her second goal of the season on a corner kick in the 26th minute but her attempt was cleared off the line by a UTBP defender.
Jacob would have her first chance of the afternoon two minutes later but was unable to beat Reann Brown on the near post. Marlene van Mourik had WT's final shot on-goal in the first half in the 45th as the Lady Buffs outshot the Falcons 11-1 in the first 45 minutes.
After controlling the possession for a majority of the second half, Jacob scored for the first time in six games to give the home side a 1-0 lead in the 74th minute. The junior timed her run perfectly to get on a through ball from Emily Avila before beating the keeper near post for 11th of the season. Shanelle Arjoon would double the lead in the final minute on a shot from 18 yards out. The junior corralled the rebound from Jacob's shot in the box before calmly slotting the ball off the crossbar to seal the victory for the Lady Buffs.
Courtney Dippel finished the game with two saves, both coming in the second half, as the Belton, Texas native picked up her 41st career victory tying Jamie Griffis-Roach's program record. Jacob finished the game with a game-high five shots with Diaz, Arjoon and Marlene van Mourik also recording three each.

WT will host the 2018 Lone Star Conference Women's Soccer Championships on Friday and Sunday at The Pitch. The Lady Buffs will play the winner of Texas A&M-Commerce and Eastern New Mexico on Friday for a spot in Sunday's Championship game.
