CANYON, Texas – The #9 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M had three different players in double-digits but costly turnovers allowed the #23 Flying Queens of Wayland Baptist to leave Canyon with a 73-68 overtime victory on Saturday afternoon in exhibition play at the First United Bank Center.

- West Texas A&M was led offensively by Tiana Parker with 18 points as the Tennessee State transfer went 5-of-10 from the floor and a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line to go along with five rebounds and five blocks in 35 minutes.
- Maci Merket led the way offensively for the Flying Queens with a game-high 33 points as she went 9-of-22 from the field including 3-of-12 from deep and 12-of-13 from the charity stripe with four rebounds and four steals in 42 minutes.
 
FIRST HALF:
- The Lady Buffs went 9-of-28 (32.1%) from the field including 1-of-11 (9.1%) from deep and 9-of-15 (60%) from the charity stripe to go along with 24 rebounds (12 offensive, 12 defensive), six assists, 10 turnovers, three blocks and two steals.
- Wayland Baptist finished the half going 14-of-29 (48.3%) from the floor including 4-of-12 (33.3%) from behind the arc and 4-of-8 (50%) from the free throw line to go along with 16 rebounds (five offensive, 11 defensive), 10 assists, six turnovers, no blocks and six steals.
 
SECOND HALF/OVERTIME:
- WT went 20-of-50 (40%) from the field including 1-of-13 (7.7%) from deep and 27-of-36 (75%) from the free throw line with 47 total rebounds (15 offensive, 32 defensive), 11 assists, 28 turnovers, eight blocks and four steals.
- WBU finished the game going 21-of-60 (35%) from the floor including 6-of-21 (28.6%) from behind the arc and 25-of-31 (80.6%) from the line to go along with 31 rebounds (12 offensive, 19 defensive), 13 assists, 16 turnovers, two blocks and 13 steals in the win.
