CANYON, Texas – The Buffs of West Texas A&M will get their first road matchups of the season with a weekend trip to Colorado. They will play Colorado State-Pueblo on Friday at 9 p.m. (CT) in what will be head coach Butch Lauffer's 700th game as a head coach at WT (men & women combined). The Buffs will then face Adams State in the first-ever meeting between the two programs on Sunday at 1 p.m. (CT).

LIVE COVERAGE: Live stats for both matchups this weekend will be available while links can be found on the top of the page or at www.GoBuffsGo.com via the men's soccer schedule page.

CAREER 700th: Head coach Butch Lauffer returns for his 24th season at the helm of the Buffs. The Washington, D.C., native, holds a 274-121-31 all-time record in his tenure as the men's coach (1991-present). Including his 14 years as the head women's coach (1996-2009), Lauffer is 463-188-48 with the Buffs and Lady Buffs. On Friday at CSU-Pueblo, Lauffer will be coaching his 700th career game for WT on the pitch (men and women combined).

COLORADO STATE-PUEBLO AT A GLANCE: The ThunderWolves will come into Friday's contest against the Buffs winless with a 0-2 record. They dropped both contests last weekend in Hays, Kan., first a 2-1 loss to host Fort Hays State before falling to Lubbock Christian, 1-0, in a neutral site matchup. In 2013, CSUP went 4-13-1 overall and 3-10-1 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) play.

The Buffs lead the all-time series with the ThunderWolves 11-1-1. They were victorious in their last meeting, WT's 2013 home opener, 2-0, on Sept. 5.

ADAMS STATE AT A GLANCE: The Grizzlies of Adams State began the year with a 1-0 record after defeating Eastern New Mexico, 1-0, at home in Alamosa. Before taking on the Buffs at home on Sunday, they will host UT-Permian Basin on Friday afternoon at 5 p.m. (CT). Last season, ASU finished with a 6-10-1 overall record and went 4-9-1 in RMAC competition.

Sunday's matchup will be the first-ever meeting between the Buffs and Grizzlies.

COLORADO MINES REVISITED: WT opened up its 2014 campaign at home with a hard fought victory in poor conditions, prevailing over Colorado Mines, 1-0. Seniors Christopher Hutton and Michael Williams connected on a second-half goal to give the Buffs the advantage and eventual win. Hutton tapped in the score in the 69th minute to start the team off 1-0 on the year as the program improved to 19-4-1 all-time in season openers. With the loss, the Orediggers fell to 0-1 on the year.

Sophomore Patrick Satorie made an impressive debut as the Buffs' goalkeeper despite wind and rain throughout his full 90 minutes between the pipes. He started his career off with a 1-0 record after earning the shutout victory with five saves. The Buffs were edged out in both shots, 14-12, and shots-on-goal, 5-4; however, they pressured consistently with many attempts within inches of the net and seized the opportunity to take the lead when it counted.

Hutton led the way for WT on the shot chart with four total and two on target. Junior Johnny Oliver had two on the day while six other Buffs forced one each. CSM was led by Joe Haines who finished the night with six attempts. Collin Hall took the loss as he played the full 90 minutes with two saves on the stat sheet. The Orediggers also held the advantage in corner kicks, 9-6. Both teams finished the night with 13 fouls each.

TEXAS A&M-INTERNATIONAL REVISITED: The Buffs dropped their record to 1-1 on Sunday afternoon in Canyon after receiving their first loss of the season, a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Texas A&M-International on home turf at The Pitch. After a scoreless first half of action, the Dustdevils took the lead early in the second frame. The Buffs would grab the equalizer in the 74th minute but ended up surrendering the late goal four minutes later to fall to 1-1 on the season. With the win, TAMIU remained undefeated at 2-0 on the season and have since moved up to sixth in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) rankings. The Buffs doubled up the Dustdevils in shots on the day, 15-7. Leading the way was sophomore Thomas Vickers with three and junior George Beasley, senior Vitor Cardoso, Hutton, junior Austin Henderson and freshman Axel Insulander with two each. Hutton's goal was the fifth of his career and second on the season while Insulander's helper was the first of both the season and his career at WT.
