WTAMU Drops 2-1 Decision To MSU Sunday

The West Texas A&M University women's soccer team suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Midwestern State University Sunday afternoon at Wichita Falls, Texas in a Lone Star Conference match.

It was the Lady Buffs' third loss in their last four matches, as they are now 8-4-0 overall and 2-3-0 in LSC play. MSU improves to 10-3-3 overall and 4-2-0 in the LSC.

WTAMU scored first, as sophomore forward Sarit Shenar netted her team-leading 15th goal of the season, netting an unassisted goal in the 44th minute to give the Lady Buffs a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.

MSU's Megan Dodson evened the score at 1-apiece with a penalty kick goal in the 53rd minute, putting the ball past redshirt-freshman goalkeeper Sarah Anderson, who was making her first start of the season in place of injured senior Jamie Roach.

The Lady Indians tallied the game-winner in the 62nd minute on a goal by Crystal Sanchez off an assist from Natalie Noblitt.

The Lady Buffs return home for their last home series of the season Friday and Sunday, Oct. 22 & 24, to take on East Central University and Northeastern State University with both games being doubleheaders with the men's team.
