CANYON, Texas – The #19 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M return to the course on Monday and Tuesday as they host the annual WT Fall Invitational at La Paloma Golf Course (Par 71 – 5,801 Yards) in Amarillo, Texas.
 
The 10-team field features Cal State Monterey Bay, Cameron, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Lubbock Christian, #19 West Texas A&M, #20 Cal State Los Angeles, Angelo State, UT Dallas, CSU Pueblo and Chico State. 
 
The Lady Buffs were tabbed 19^th in the first edition of the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Poll announced earlier this week following a tied for third place showing at the WinStar Invitational back on September 6-8 in Thackerville, Oklahoma.
 
Mia Hammerschmid was named the first Lone Star Conference Women's Golfer of the Week of the fall season back on September 11^th as the sophomore won her second collegiate tournament with rounds of 72, 70 and 70 for a 212 (-4). The Düsseldorf, Germany product had 11 birdies over the three rounds with a par-three scoring average of 2.92 to rank tied for second in the 54-player field.
 
Meredith Jameson is in her 22nd season leading the Lady Buffs, guiding WT to 41 team victories and 40 individual wins by 20 different players since 2005. The former WT All-American has coached the Lady Buffs to the NCAA Division II National Championship nine times in her career with 15 Regional Championship Appearances. Jameson was recently awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Amarillo Women's Network.
 
La Paloma is a links-style course features dramatic elevation changes, natural rock outcroppings, native rough, and several lakes. La Paloma is unique to the Texas panhandle in its architectural style and it is part of the Tascosa Golf Club. La Paloma was recently renovated in an agreement with the Korn Ferry Tour to host the OccuNet Classic. 
 
The Lady Buffs will be paired with CSU Pueblo and Cal State Los Angeles during the first two rounds as a shotgun start begins at 8:30 a.m. Monday will feature 36 holes of action followed by the final round on Tuesday in Amarillo.
