CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M kept their LSC Title hopes alive on Tuesday afternoon as they shot a 295 to finish with a team total of 883 (+17) for a third-place finish following three rounds of stroke play to advance to the Medal Match Play Semifinals at Rockwall Golf & Athletic Center (Par 72 – 5,997 Yards).
Tuesday's final round of stroke play saw the Lady Buffs register 16 birdies as WT finished tied atop of the team statistics in par-five scoring (4.85). WT shot rounds of 293, 295 and 295 for a +17 (883) to finish third overall on the team leaderboard.
Sarah Reed led the way individually for the Lady Buffs as the junior claimed All-Tournament Team honors with a 214 (-2) to finish fifth overall. The Midland, Texas native finished 56-holes of stroke play with nine birdies and 38 pars.
Dallas Baptist shot a 293 during the final round to finish with a team score of 876 (+12) to claim the top seed in the Medal Match Round by one stroke over UT Tyler (+13, 877) followed by the Lady Buffs (+19, 883) and St. Mary's (+22, 886).
Brooke Yount of UT Dallas claimed the LSC Individual Championship with rounds of 75, 68 and 66 for a 209 (-7) to claim a three-stroke victory over UT Tyler's Martha Laremark and DBU's Gracie Grant.
The Lady Buffs will take on second-seeded UT Tyler in Medal Match Play tomorrow morning with traditional tee times beginning at 8:00 a.m. off of Hole #10. That winner will advance to the championship round tomorrow afternoon against the winner of DBU and St. Mary's.
