CANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs picked up their second victory of the season on Tuesday afternoon as they shot a +14 (590) to win the 2026 WT Desert Invitational at Ventana Canyon Club (Par 72 – 5,802 Yards) in Tucson, Arizona.
Sarah Reed finished second on the individual leaderboard with rounds of 73 and 70 for a 143 (-1) as the Midland product tied for the tournament lead in par-four scoring (4.00), finishing the 36-hole event with 28 pars, three birdies and an eagle.
Mia Hammerschmid and
Kara Holm finished tied for seventh with a +5 (149).
Lily Nelson of Henderson State picked up the individual title with rounds of 73 and 68 for a -3 (141) to claim a two-stroke victory.
The Lady Buffs begin the postseason on April 13-15 as they travel to Rockwall, Texas to take part in the 2026 Lone Star Conference Women's Golf Championships at Rockwall Golf & Athletic Club.
