CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M shot rounds of 293 and 295 for a 588 (+12) to sit third following the opening two rounds at the Lone Star Conference Championships at Rockwall Golf & Athletic Club (Par 72 – 5,997 Yards) in Rockwall, Texas.
 
Sarah Reed led the way for the Lady Buffs as the Midland product fired rounds of 72 and 71 for a 143 (-1) to sit tied for seventh on the individual leaderboard, the junior tallied the third most pars (27) in the 69-player field.
 
Martha Laremark of UT Tyler leads the way with a 140 (-4) to hold a one-stroke lead over Camilah Porras of UT Dallas. UT Tyler and Dallas Baptist shot an identical 583 (+7) as they hold a five-stroke advantage over the Lady Buffs entering the final round.
 
The Lady Buffs registered the second-best team scoring on par-four holes (4.16) as they registered 22 birdies and 116 pars during the first 36 holes. 
 
WT will be paired with DBU, UT Tyler and Midwestern State during Tuesday's final round of stroke play beginning at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. The top-four teams at the conclusion of 54 holes advance to the semifinals and medal match play on Wednesday.
