CANYON, Texas – The #7 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M close out the regular season on Saturday afternoon as the UT Permian Basin Falcons make their way to the First United Bank Center with tipoff set for 1:00 p.m. on Senior Day in Canyon.

ANGELO STATE REWIND
The Lady Buffs held Angelo State scoreless over the final six and a half minutes of the game on Thursday night as they picked up a 69-62 Lone Star Conference at the First United Bank Center in Legacy Night in Canyon.
Kyla Kane led with 20 points, converting five of eight 3-point attempts and collecting nine rebounds.
Randi Harding contributed 13 points, making five of seven shots from the field and adding two assists.
Henley West recorded 11 points and blocked two shots while securing five rebounds.
Kenadee Winfrey tallied three steals and provided three assists in the game.

SCOUTING THE FALCONS
UT Permian Basin enters the regular season finale with an overall record of 15-12 with a 10-9 mark in Lone Star Conference play as they look to snap a two-game losing streak. The Falcons are 5-4 away from the Falcon Dome this season. UTPB sits eighth in the league standings entering Saturday afternoon.

Thursday night saw the Falcons shoot 40.3% (27-of-67) from the floor including 40% (12-of-30) at the free throw line but 17 costly turnovers led to 14 Greyhound points as ENMU claimed a 72-67 victory in Portales. UTPB had three players in double-figures led by Madison Walters, going 5-of-12 from the floor and 4-of-9 from behind the arc for 14 points to go along with two assists and three steals.

Kenadi Rising leads the way offensively for the Falcons as the graduate guard from Rapid City, South Dakota has gone 103-of-244 (42.2%) from the floor including 26-of-87 (29.9%) from behind the arc and 50-of-58 (86.2%) from the stripe to average 10.4 points per game with 136 rebounds, 39 assists, 24 steals and four blocks. The Emporia State transfer has reached double-figures 16 times this season with a season-high 20 points coming back on February 21st against Lubbock Christian.

UTPB HEAD COACH RAE BOOTHE
Rae Boothe is now in her ninth season as the helm of the UT Permian Basin women's basketball program. She took over the UTPB program in August of 2017 following seven seasons as the head coach at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas where she went 159-67 overall, leading the Falcons to six straight 20-win seasons including five NAIA Tournament appearances and two trips to the Sweet 16.

Saturday afternoon marks the 21st all-time meeting on the hardwood between the Lady Buffs and Falcons as WT holds a 17-3 advantage in the all-time series. The Falcons are 10-2 all-time at the First United Bank Center.

The last meeting saw the Lady Buffs shoot 41.4% (24-of-58) from the floor including 35% (7-of-20) from behind the arc as they forced 11 UTPB turnovers on the way to a 72-67 victory in Canyon.
Claire Graham led the way for the Lady Buffs going 6-of-11 from the field and 2-of-5 from deep for a team-best 17 points with five boards and a steal.

WT HEAD COACH JOSH PROCK
Josh Prock is now in his fifth season at the helm of the Lady Buff Basketball program. The Lady Buffs made the program's 29th appearance in the NCAA Division II Postseason during the 2024-25 campaign as they went 19-13 overall with a 12-10 mark in the LSC.

Prock reached the 300-career victory milestone on Thursday, December 4th in a 76-51 victory over Oklahoma Christian at the First United Bank Center in Canyon. Prock was introduced as West Texas A&M's head women's basketball coach on June 2, 2021. Prock is no stranger to the Lone Star Conference as he spent eight seasons as the head coach at Eastern New Mexico leading the Greyhounds to three NCAA Tournament appearances.

West Texas A&M is home to one of the finest multi-purpose facilities in the country as the First United Bank Center has served as the home of the Lady Buffs since January 26, 2002. The Lady Buffs are a staggering 300-49 inside of the FUBC during that time for a winning clip of 86.3%. WT has averaged 1,035 fans per contest since the facility opened its doors with the largest crowd coming on Opening Night with 4,941 members of Buff Nation seeing the Lady Buffs take on rival Abilene Christian.

LSC PRESEASON POLL
The Lady Buffs were selected fourth in the 2025 LSC Preseason Coaches' Poll. Texas Woman's claimed 20 of the possible 51 first place votes to sit atop of the poll with 810 points followed by Lubbock Christian (14 first place, 776), UT Tyler (eight first place, 761), West Texas A&M (six first place, 663) and Eastern New Mexico (two first place, 657) to round out the top five. Angelo State (656) sits sixth followed by Texas A&M-Kingsville (564), UT Permian Basin (466), Midwestern State (461), St. Mary's (438), St. Edward's (363), Oklahoma Christian (310), Cameron (262), Texas A&M International (one first place, 210), UT Dallas (168), Western New Mexico (161) and Sul Ross State (77).

The Lady Buffs have been tabbed second in the first ranked edition of the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball South Central Regional Rankings announced on Wednesday afternoon.
