CANYON, Texas – The #2 Lady Buffs continued a dominating start to the 2025 cross country campaign on Friday morning as they claimed WT's second team title of the season at the Texas Tech Open at the LCU Cross Country Course in Lubbock, Texas.
 
The Lady Buffs placed five runners inside of the Top 10 for a total of 27 points to top host Texas Tech (50) by 23 points. Odessa College finished third with 61 points including individual champion Milicent Wafula followed by New Mexico Junior College (121) and Garden City CC (181) to round out the top five.
 
Reigning LSC Runner of the Week Sarah Koomson impressed again for the Lady Buffs with a time of 21:09.4 on the 6K course to finish second overall. Eliette Chaput finished 3^rd (21:17.2) followed by Naomi Addo in 5^th (21:19.9), Julie Lafare in 7^th (21:27.5) and Abigail Abugire in 10^th (21:47.1).
 
Andrea Monchatre ran a time of 22:36.9 during her first race as a Lady Buff to finish 16^th overall followed by Yvonne Legarrete in 35^th (24:30.4) and Isabella Celis in 57^th (26:09.6).
 
West Texas A&M returns to the course on Saturday, October 4^th as they take part in the Louisville Classic at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky.
