CANYON, Texas – The Buffs and Lady Buffs started off the weekend in style with three new school records along with a meet record on Thursday. The WT track and field program was spread out between two meets in Austin, Texas and Raleigh, North Carolina.

Abigail Abugire claimed a victory in the women's 800m at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays as the freshman ran a time of 2:04.89 for the first school record of the day.
Kalkidan Vincendeau would finish fifth in the women's 5K in Austin, running a time of 16:25.06 for the fourth-best time in program history in the 5K.

Adrian Legarreta set a new personal best and school record in Raleigh, North Carolina during the Raleigh Relays in the men's 5K with a mark of 13:54.38 to finish 43
rd.
Enrico Oddone would finish 59
th overall with the fifth-best outdoor mark in school history with a 13:58.86.

William Amponsah followed that with a time of 13:30.99 later in the evening for the ninth fastest mark in NCAA Division II outdoor history, setting a new school record, as he finished fifth overall.

Eliette Chaput made a statement in Austin during the women's 3,000m steeplechase as the French product set a new meet record at the historic Texas Relays with a time of 10:14.50 to win the event.
Matthys Bourse would sweep the steeplechase titles for the Maroon & White as the sophomore set a new school record with a time of 8:49.60.
