AMARILLO, Texas – West Texas A&M women's golf finished the first day of the WT West Regional Preview in second place and one stroke behind Cal State San Marcos for the lead. The Lady Buffs concluded the first 36 holes of the tournament at the La Paloma Golf Course with a team score of 16-over par (584).
 
Gam Songprasert leads the way for WT after using rounds of one-over (72) and three-under (68) to end the first day in second place at two-under (140). Kara Holm used a one-under par second round to move into a tie for seventh place, ending the day at three-over (145). Charlee Thacker carded rounds of one-over (72) and four-over (75), tying for 14^th entering the final round. Antonella Periotti Omisolo finished day one in Amarillo tied for 42^nd at 11-over (153) while Sarah Reed ended tied for 50^th at 13-over (155).
 
The Lady Buffs return to the course tomorrow with the final round starting at 8:30 a.m.
