CANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs improved their team score by 14 strokes on Tuesday during the final round of the Emerald Coast Classic at Baytowne Golf Club in Destin, Florida.

The Lady Buffs shot rounds of 302, 302 and 288 for a 892 (+40) to finish tied for seventh on the team leaderboard. UT Tyler claimed the team title with a +7 (859) for an 11-stroke victory over the St. Mary's Rattlers (+18, 870).

Mia Hammerschmid led the way for the Lady Buffs as the German product fired rounds of 71, 78 and 70 for a +6 (219) to finish 18
thoverall. The freshman registered 10 birdies over the three-day event with five of the feathers coming in the opening round along with four during Tuesday's final round.
Monica De Valle Pena tied Hammerschmid with the lowest round of the day for the Lady Buffs, tallying four birdies on her way to a -1 (70).

The Lady Buffs return to the course on April 3-4 as they travel to Goodyear, Arizona to take part in the Palm Valley Classic at Palm Valley Golf Club.
