Botsio Breaks 9.90, Greeson, Acheampong and Sprints Shine on Final Day of Jo Meaker Classic & Multi

CANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M No. 4 Lady Buffs and No. 14 Buffs shine on final day of Jo Meaker Classic & Multi with a nation leading 100-meter time of 9.90 by Isaac Botsio, 2 broken school records and 27 personal records broken.

FASTEST IN THE NATION
Isaac Botsio, the sophomore from Takoradi, Ghana, ran a +2.2 wind aided 9.90 100-meter race. Botsios' 9.90 is the fastest 100-meter time in all NCAA divisions this season. NCAA allows up to a +2.9 wind aided time for qualifications, while the Olympic trials only allows a +2.0 aided time. This is tied for the second fastest time in WT Top-10 history with Benjamin Azamati holding the fastest time at 9.86 and the tied second fastest with Botsio, 9.90.

The NCAA puts Botsio at a wind aided 9.93 officially, which is still the fastest time across NCAA Division I, II and III.
According to World Athletics timing, Botsio ranks No. 1 in the world as fastest men's 100m all conditions considered. This is the first time Botsio has claimed the No. 1 postition in the world.

BROKEN RECORDS

Prior to Greeson's personal record, she held onto the fourth best WT Top-10 spot at No. 4 with 5,136 points. Laiten Greeson ranks No. 2 in the nation in the NCAA Division II Heptathlon. Across all NCAA divisions, Greeson sits 6thoverall.

Deborah Acheampong, a freshman from Eastern Region, Ghana, ran the fastest 100-meter in Lady Buff history finishing in 11.29 seconds. This is the first time the freshman has made the WT Top-10 as she sits third overall in NCAA Division II this season.
