CANYON, Texas – Isaac Botsio and
Miriam Zanovello add Lone Star Conference Outdoor Athletes of the Week to their resume this season. The West Texas A&M Buff and Lady Buff earn the honors after having standout performances at the invitation only Texas Relays meet hosted by the University of Texas at Austin.
MEN'S TRACK
Isaac Botsio, West Texas A&M, So., Sports and Exercise Science, Takoradi, Ghana (Ghana Secondary Technical School)
Botsio posted an NCAA Division II provisional time of 10.28 in the 100 meters to finish fifth at the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas. Botsio, whose time ranks third in the country, finished behind only NCAA Division I opponents. His preliminary time was a personal-best 10.05, which also ranked in the top 10 in program history.
WOMEN'S FIELD
Miriam Zanovello, West Texas A&M, Gr., Chemistry, Chivasso, Italy (Uceo Scientifico Isaac Newton)
Zanovello posted a season-best 40' 1.5" (12.23m) in the triple jump at the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas. Her NCAA Division II provisional jump ranks eighth in the country. She finished seventh at the NCAA Division I-heavy event and was the top Division II finisher.
