LOUISVILLE, KY.- The No.7 Buffs Cross Country finished fourth at the Live in Lou Classic today, Sept. 30 with 164 team points. Junior
William Amponsah led the Buffs with a first-place individual title in the undisputed contest.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Buffs all started strong with
William Amponsah and freshman
Aziz Mohammed in the front of the pack with a one-two punch at the lead. Amponsah would continue holding the lead throughout the race and finished 5.7 seconds ahead of second place finisher Jason Bowers from Division I Eastern Kentucky and #17 in the nation. Mohammed kept the pace to stay in the top-50 runners alongside teammate
Louis Moreau.
The Buffs placed fourth making this the highest finish for WT at the Live in Lou Classic. They were five points shy of taking third from Purdue and followed behind first place finisher Grand Valley then Adams State.
