CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M closes out their season on Saturday as they take part in the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The women's 6K race begins at 10 a.m. CT followed by the men's 10K race at 11:15 a.m. CT.

The Buffs and Lady Buffs toe the starting line against the top teams in the nation as 34 teams were selected to participate in each championship. The top three, seven-person teams automatically qualified from each of the eight regions, for a total of 24 teams. Ten additional teams were selected at-large. A minimum of 24 additional individuals were selected to participate in each championship through an automatic qualifier and at-large selection process.

Both the Buffs and Lady Buffs earned at-large bids into the NCAA Championships following fifth place finishes at the NCAA South Central Regional Championships at Walking Stick Golf Club in Pueblo, Colorado. The WT men's squad is ranked 10
th in the USTFCCCA Division II Top-25 poll entering the meet while the Lady Buffs sit sixth.

The Lady Buffs will start the race in Box #1 while the Buffs will begin in Box #29. Last season saw the Lady Buffs claim the best-finish in program history with 127 total points to finish as the National Runner-Up while the Buffs registered 138 points for a fourth-place finish.

The men's race will feature a new National Champion as WT alum
William Amponsah finished first in back-to-back events in 2023 and 2024. Grand Valley State senior Lauren Kiley looks to repeat as the Canton, Michigan product is the reigning Women's National Champion with a time of 20:28.5 in Sacramento last season.
