RICHARDSON, TEXAS . – For the second time this season, West Texas A&M Cross Country swept the Lone Star Conference (LSC) weekly honors as announced by the league office Wednesday afternoon. Meshack Keter took home both Men's honors after being named Runner and Freshman of the Week. Lola Sarthou was the Women's Runner while Ella Schuettler was the Women's Freshman.
 
For the third time this season, Meshack Keter earned both weekly honors. The Eldoret, Kenya native went wire-to-wire at the Old Glory Gallop to pace the Buffs with a time of 22:52.31. That time was a PR for Keter as well as the fastest time recorded by a DII runner this season. The freshman beat out 488 runners as he won his second consecutive meet and WT won their third meet of the season as a team. He was also named United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Athlete of the Week for the third time this season. He is the first Buff since William Amponsah in 2023 to be named LSC Runner of the Week on three separate occasions in a single season. He is the first Buff since Gustavo Posada in 2021 to be named LSC Freshman of the Week three times in a season.
 
Lola Sarthou led the Lady Buffs with a second-place finish at the Old Glory Gallop. Sarthou posted a PR of 16:36.65 as she held her position for the entirety of the race. The Lady Buffs would come away with their third meet win of the year.
 
Ella Schuettler also posted a PR of 17:30.46 as she took 13th. Schuettler made a strong push in the final 2k of the race to jump to her final placement.
 
This is the third time where West Texas A&M has earned all four LSC weekly awards with the second time coming on September 23 earlier this season after Keter (Men's Runner and Freshman) and Michelle Jemutai (Women's Runner and Freshman) were honored.
 
Keter, Sarthou, Schuettler and the rest of the team will be back in action on Saturday, November 7 as they compete in the LSC Championship.
