CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M's Adam Becker continues to add to his already lost list of awards as the senior infielder was named the 2023 National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association (NCBWA) South Central Region Player of the Year.
 
The teams were voted on by a committee of eight members with four from the RMAC and four from the Lone Star. Player of the Year, Pitcher of the Year, and Coach of the Year were voted on as separate categories. Becker now moves onto the NCBWA All-American ballot.
 
The two-time LSC Player of the Year became one of the best hitters in Division II baseball over the last two seasons in Maroon & White as the Midland product hit .420 this season with 22 doubles, two triples and 15 homeruns to drive in 74 RBI with 160 total bases for a slugging percentage of .755. Becker becomes just the fourth student-athlete in LSC history to be named the league's Player of the Year multiple times.
