Track and Field Last Chance Meet Rescheduled to Friday, May 12

MEET SCHEDULE
 
CANYON, Texas – No. 1/2 Lady Buffs and Buffs track and field team are competing tomorrow at home for the last time this outdoor season. The Last Chance Meet will take place at the WTAMU track and field complex on Friday, May 12th. Events are scheduled to start at 1:00 pm. The rescheduled event was due to severe weather predicted for the previous date on Sunday. 
 
Fans are encouraged to come support the No. 1 and No. 2 track and field team as they give their last effort to hit provisional marks to qualify for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Nationals.

PROVISIONAL MARKS 
The Lady Buffs and Buffs have hit many provisional marks this season. They just won the Lone Star Conference Championship, for three consecutive years, making them the first team to do so in LSC history. 
 
The Last Chance is an opportunity for select WT athletes to hit better marks before the final cut-off date of May 14th to have a chance to make the NCAA DII Outdoor Track and Field Nationals. 
 
A LOOK AT THE RANKINGS
The Lady Buffs just took back the No. 1 in the nation ranking this past week. They held onto the No. 1 spot for four weeks before dropping to No. 3 for week six, then gaining back No. 1 after the Lone Star Conference Championship. 
 
The Buffs hold steady at No. 2 in the nation. They are right behind Pittsburg State. The Buffs have the No. 1 in the nation 4x100 relay with a time of 38.92. Their newly minted 4x400 relay team holds the No. 3 spot with a time of 3:08.47. 
 
UP NEXT
West Texas A&M will travel to Pueblo, CO from May 25-27 for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Nationals.
