Luis Palomo shot rounds of 78 and 71 to sit in 12
th place at the Rattler Invitational hosted by St. Mary's at Dominion Country Club (Par 72 – 6,937 Yards), the Buffs sit ninth on the team leaderboard after the opening day in San Antonio.
Palomo registered five birdies on the day including four feathers in the second round where he fired in the red with a 71 (-1). WT finished the opening two rounds with 35 birdies to go along with an eagle by
Kolton Baber on the 528-yard par five 7
th hole during the opening round.
Dallas Baptist sits atop of the team leaderboard with a 588 (+12) followed by Cameron (+18, 594), St. Mary's (+22, 598) and UT Permian Basin (+22, 598). UTPB's Sangha Park leads the way on the individual leaderboard with rounds of 70 and 68 to shoot a six-under 138 for a three-stroke lead over DBU's Lucas Wright.
Tuesday's final round is set for a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m. The Buffs will be paired with Simon Fraser and Northeastern State in round three.
