CANYON, TX- The West Texas A&M Cross Country teams are moving forward as two of the Top-10 programs in the nation in this weeks' poll announced by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Wednesday afternoon.
The #9 Buffs are the staying within the top-10 in the nation after their performance at the LSC Championships where they scored the lowest possible score of 15 points to claim first place. The Buffs won the individual title with junior
William Amponsah who ran the second fastest time in LSC history at 23:35.57.
The #5 Lady Buffs are ranked their highest ever in WT history after their historic race winning the LSC Championships for the third time and first time in ten years. The Lady Buffs won the individual title with senior
Eleonora Curtabbi, making it the fourth straight year that the Lady Buffs won the LSC individual championship.
The #9 Buffs and #5 Lady Buffs are only one of two programs in the Lone Star Conference that are ranked nationally with Dallas Baptist women's team ranked at #25. Across the South Central Region there are eight RMAC teams in the men's division and seven women's teams ranked with nine placing in the top-10 in the nation.
