CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M Track & Field continued their indoor season on Saturday at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Collegiate Invitational hosted by the University of New Mexico at the Albuquerque Civic Center.
 
The women's weight throw saw Alex Tice set a new personal best on her opening throw with a mark of 12.92m (42-5) to finish 29^th followed by Hope Gray in 32^nd with a 12.37m (40-7) on her second attempt as the Borger product tossed a personal best in just her second collegiate meet.
 
Tice picked up another personal best, this time in the shot put as the freshman from Lamar, Colorado registered a throw of 12.98m (42-7) on her third attempt. Meadow Gallentine finished 33^rd in the event followed by Gray in 37^th.
 
Ray Dixon impressed in the men's weight throw as the senior from Llano tallied a mark of 18.00m (59-1) to finish eighth overall followed by Luke Holcombe (15^th - 15.88m/52-1), Jon Tucker (18^th – 13.46m/44-2) and Ethan Hollinshead (19^th – 12.59m/41-4).
 
Hollinshead finished seventh in his flight of the shot put with a mark of 12.38m (40-7.50) while Holcombe was ninth in his flight with a mark of 15.19m (49-10) followed by Dixon in the same flight in 11^th (14.54m/47-8.50).
 
WT returns to the track next weekend as they make the short trip down I-27 to take part in the Texas Tech Open & Multis at the Sports Performance Center in Lubbock.
