Buffs Sit Fourth in the South Central Regional Baseball Rankings

CANYON, Texas – 
The West Texas A&M Buffaloes have dropped one spot to fourth in the South Central Regional Baseball rankings announced on Wednesday afternoon by the NCAA's headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana. 
 
Angelo State moved to the top spot followed by Colorado Mesa, Texas A&M-Kingsville, West Texas A&M, Lubbock Christian, MSU Denver, UT Tyler and St. Edward's.
 
The winners of the two conference tournaments (LSC, RMAC) receive an automatic bid into the postseason with the last four spots being filled by at-large selections. The official announcement of the NCAA Division II Championship field will be made on Sunday, May 15th via an online selection show at NCAA.com. 
 
The top six teams in the South Central Region will take part in the Regional Tournament taking place on May 19-21 hosted by the top two overall seeds in a double-elimination event, those two winners will advance to a best-of-three series in the South Central Super Regionals on May 27-28 at the highest remaining seed. The Division II College World Series will take place on June 4-11 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.
 
The Buffs begin the 2022 postseason this weekend as they host the seventh seeded Oklahoma Christian Eagles in a best-of-three series during the Opening Weekend of the LSC Championships starting on Friday night at 7 p.m. at Wilder Park.
