Curtabbi Earns Lone Star Conference Weekly Track Honors

RICHARDSON, Texas – West Texas A&M's Eleonora Curtabbi was named the Lone Star Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week following her performance at the Bryan Clay Invitational in California last weekend. 
 
Curtabbi broke a pair of school records at the Bryan Clay Invite last week. She ran 10:09.85 to finish fourth in a field of 63 in the steeplechase as the Turin, Italy product's time marks the 16th-fastest in NCAA Division II history. She now has the top two performances in the nation this season in the steeple. 
 
She returned to the track two days later to break the 1,500-meter record where she crossed the line with the fifth-fastest time in Division II this season at 4:24.78 for a runner-up finish as the highest collegiate placer.
 
WT will compete in the Ross Black Open in Hobbs, N.M. on April 22-23 on the campus of New Mexico Junior College.
