CANYON, Texas – The #3 Buffaloes of West Texas A&M are headed home with another Lone Star Conference series sweep as they topped the UT Permian Basin Falcons twice on Monday at Momentum Bank Ballpark in Midland to move to 14-0 overall.

The Buffs return to Wilder Park for Lone Star Conference action next weekend as they host the UT Tyler Patriots in a four-game series beginning on Friday night with first pitch set for 7 p.m. in Canyon.

GAME ONE
The Buffs jumped out to an early lead in the top of the second as
Eddy Savoie singled to right with the bases loaded and two outs to score
Mike Manetta and
Izaiah Madrid followed by a
Ryan Johnson RBI single to center to plate
Paul Wittmann and make it 3-0.

WT added to their lead in the top of the third as
Eric Ortiz lifted a double deep to left center to drive in
Will Fuenning,
Adam Becker continued his big weekend in the fifth inning as the Midland product crushed a solo homerun to left field to make it 5-0.

The Buffs would break it open in the sixth as Johnson would be hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and no outs followed by a
Kennedy Badgett two-run double just inside the left field foul line to extend the lead to 8-0.Â

The Falcons would get on the board in the bottom of the seventh with a Gabriel Morin sacrifice fly to right that score Bernie Valdez followed later in the frame by a Garret Thornton two-run single to right center to make it 8-3.

Maddux Hoaglund picked up the win (2-0) for the Buffs, allowing no runs on just three hits with two walks and five strikeouts in his five scoreless frames. Chris Rogriguez would allow one hit in his one inning of relief followed by appearances from
Sam Davis and
Ben Crist in the seventh.

GAME TWO
The series finale saw a pitcher's duel as UTPB's Cade Pollard and WT's
Sasha Sneider put on a show with a scoreless performance thru the first three frames. The Falcons struck first in the home half of the fourth inning as D. Ferrari tripled to the gap in left center with two outs to plate J. Raul Lope for the 1-0 advantage.

The Buffs tied up the game in the top of the seventh with two outs as Johnson reached on a Falcon fielding error that would score
Jacob Butler and make it 1-1. WT took their first lead of the night in the top of the eighth inning as Fuenning doubled to the power alley in left center to score Becker followed by a wild pitch and another UTPB error to give the Buffs the 3-1 lead.

The Falcons wouldn't go down without a fight in the ninth inning as they brought the winning run to the plate with one out thanks to a pair of free passes but
Reese Miller would settle in and close out the game with a pair of strikeouts followed by a fly ball to Butler in center for the 3-1 win.

Colton Charnholm picked up the victory (3-0) for the Buffs, allowing no runs on just two hits with no walks and a strikeout over his 2.0 innings of relief, Sneider would finish the night with nine strikeouts in his first start as a Buff while Miller picked up his first career save with one walk and two strikeouts in the final frame.
