At St. Edward's:
Ayala comes to Canyon following two seasons at Lone Star Conference foe St. Edward's where he made 25 appearances for the Hilltoppers. He tossed 34.2 innings during his time in Austin with 37 strikeouts, registering three career saves while allowing an opposing batting average of .269. Ayala spent two seasons at Texas A&M Corpus Christi where he went 8-4 for the Islanders with 44 appearances and seven starts, striking our 80 during his 84.2 frames with a 4.36 ERA.
 
At Roy Miller High School:
The Corpus Christi native graduated from Roy Miller High School in 2017 as he played all over the field for the Buccaneers under head coach Rey Castaneda. A.G. was a First Team All-District selection on the mound during his senior season while also excelling in the classroom as an All-Academic honoree. As a junior, he led the district in strikeouts while claiming First Team All-District accolades.

Personal:
Born November 20, 1998. He is the son of Alex and Martha Ayala and is expected to pursue a Master's degree in Educational Leadership at WT.
