2023:
Made 13 appearances with four starts for the Buffaloes during the 2023 campaign. Went 1-3 overall with a 5.72 ERA as he allowed 21 runs (18 earned) on 42 hits with 18 walks and 23 strikeouts during his 28.1 innings of work for an opposing batting average of .356.

2022:
Hoaglund made 14 appearances on the mound for the Buffs in 2022 with 12 of those as a starter. The Cadillac, Michigan native went 4-1 overall with a 7.26 ERA as he allowed 48 runs (43 earned) on 70 hits with 26 walks and 72 strikeouts during his 53.1 innings of work to go along with an opposing batting average of .308.

At Indian Hills Community College:
Hoaglund came to Canyon from Indian Hills Community College in Centerville, Iowa where pitched as well as playing in the outfield and behind the plate for the Falcons under head coach Matthew Torrez. Hoaglund worked his way into the rotation for the Falcons this past season, going 8-2 with 90 strikeouts over 76.0 innings and a 2.49 ERA as Indian Hills advanced to the NJCAA College World Series. The right hander made seven appearances out of the bullpen for the Falcons in 2020, registering five strikeouts over his 8.1 innings of work 
 
At Cadillac High School:
Hoaglund graduated from Cadillac High School in Cadillac, Michigan in 2018 where he played in the outfield and behind the dish under head coach Marty Cartwright. He was an All-Conference, All-District and All-Area selection for the Vikings.

Personal:
Born March 16, 2000. Maddux is the son of Craig and Jenny Hoaglund and he has one sister, Gabby. He is expected to major in Business at West Texas A&M.
