WT Track & Field Has Strong Opening Day at Boo Rogers

PITTSBURG, Kansas – West Texas A&M track & field got off to a strong start to the season at the Boo Rogers Combined Events in Pittsburg, Kansas. 
 
Sophomore Elliot Harrison led the Lady Buffs with a seventh overall finish in the pentathlon with 3,483 points which is just 32 points from matching her personal-best. Harrison's performance on Friday marks the 10th best mark in program history. The Artesia, N.M. product was followed closely by teammate Laiten Greeson who set a new personal record with 3,476 points. 
 
On the men's side, Allen Henderson led the multi squad with 2,781 points in the heptathlon through five events to sit in 11th in his debut for the Maroon and White. The junior from San Antonio is followed by Traise Cain in 23rd with 2,396 total points. The men's heptathlon will pick back up on tomorrow, Dec. 10, with the 60-meter hurdles at 9 a.m. 
 
The rest of the WT track & field squads will compete in Pittsburg State's Crimson & Gold Invitational tomorrow morning starting with the women's 5,000-meter run at 11 a.m. while the field events will begin at noon with the men's weight throw.
