SERIES HISTORY
WT holds a 3-0-1 advantage in the all-time series with UT Tyler after winning the last three meetings. The Buffs and Patriots played to a 1-1 tie in 2019. WT and UT Tyler faced off three times in 2021 as the Buffs won 1-0, 2-0, and 3-2.

SCOUTING UT TYLER
The Patriots enter with a 5-1-2 overall record and come off a 1-1 tie with UT Permian Basin in their Lone Star Conference opener. Nathan Giles leads UT Tyler with 11 points on five goals and an assist while Thato Meko holds a team-high three assists on the season. Mathias Eriksen and Asier Vegas have split time in goal, combining for four goals allowed, 13 saves, and a 0.867 save percentage.

The Buffs took an early lead against Lubbock Christian on
Payne McKiver's one-timer into the top corner of the goal. WT held on to the one-goal lead until the 65th minute when the Chaps tied the game. The Buffs' attempt to reclaim the lead in the final minutes fell short as the clock hit zero.

BUTCH LAUFFER
Butch Lauffer is in his 32nd season as head men's soccer coach at West Texas A&M University. As the longest tenured head coach in WT history, Lauffer has coached the men to 29 consecutive non-losing seasons and the women to 12-plus victories in 12 seasons. Lauffer has recorded a 366-163-44 (.677) record at the helm of the Buffs with a 555-230-61 (.692) overall record at WT.

NATIONAL OUTLOOK
The Buffs rank 13th in the nation with 16.67 shots per game, tied with St. Mary's for the Lone Star Conference lead.
Kenny Brown leads the conference in shots per game (4.11), shots on goal per game (2.11), and total shots on goal (19). Brown's marks in shots per game and shots on goal per game place him in the top-10 in Division II.
