CANYON, Texas -- The West Texas A&M women's soccer team starts postseason play against the St. Edward's Hilltoppers on Tuesday. The Lady Buffs and Hilltoppers kickoff at 4 p.m. at The Pitch in Canyon.

WT won the regular season meeting against St. Edward's by a score of 1-0 in Austin. The Lady Buffs now hold a 7-2-3 record against the Hilltoppers and carry a two-game winning streak against St. Edward's into the quarterfinal match.

SCOUTING ST. EDWARD'S
The Hilltoppers wrapped up the sixth seed in this year's conference tournament with a 2-0 win over Texas Woman's. Offensively, Tristyn Cabelllo leads St. Edward's with six goals followed by Julie Spielmann with five. In goal, Abby Carlson accounts for most of the minutes. Carlson holds a 1.10 goals-against average and a 0.753 save percentage. During Carlson's 1,557 minutes, the goalkeeper has allowed 19 goals and converted 58 saves on 174 shots faced.

LAST TIME OUT
WT dropped its final regular-season game to Texas A&M International, 3-1. The Lady Buffs scored first on
Asha James' 11th goal of the season. After being forced to play with 10 players, the Dustdevils took advantage of the one-player advantage, scoring three goals. Despite the loss, WT secured the third seed in the Lone Star Conference tournament.

A LOOK AT THE BRACKET
Dallas Baptist won their fourth consecutive regular-season conference title to gain the No. 1 seed and a first-round bye. Second-seeded Angelo State hosts seventh-seeded Midwestern State at 7 p.m. in San Angelo. The winner of that match will meet the winner of the WT and St. Edward's winner. On the other side of the bracket, No. 4 Lubbock Christian hosts No. 5 St. Mary's at 4 p.m. in Lubbock for the right to meet Dallas Baptist. The quarterfinals will be held at the higher seeds with the semifinal and championship games being held at Dallas Baptist.

THE PITCH
The Lady Buffs improved to 7-0-2 at the Pitch this season following their draw with Oklahoma Christian. WT is 75-31-14 (0.683) since The Pitch was opened on Sept. 10, 2010, with a 1-0 defeat of Fort Lewis.
